Ingredients
½ cup fresh strawberries (sliced) or 2 tbsp strawberry jam
1–2 teaspoons sugar or honey (optional)
½ cup milk of choice (oat, almond, dairy)
1–2 teaspoons matcha powder (ceremonial grade preferred)
2–3 tablespoons hot water
Ice cubes as needed
Instructions
In a saucepan or blender, mash or blend strawberries with optional sweetener until smooth. Strain if desired. Pour into the bottom of your glass.
Fill the glass with ice, then slowly pour in your cold milk to form a middle layer.
Whisk matcha powder with hot water until smooth and frothy using a bamboo whisk or frother.
Gently pour whisked matcha over the back of a spoon onto the milk layer to form the top layer.
Notes
For best layering, use a clear glass and pour each component slowly over the back of a spoon. Adjust sweetness to taste.
