1 box cupcake mix (vanilla, chocolate, or any flavor)
Ingredients required on box (eggs, oil, water)
1 batch buttercream frosting
Blue gel food coloring
Pretzel sticks (halved)
Gummy fish or Swedish Fish
Thin licorice or fondant string (for fishing lines)
Crushed graham crackers (optional, for sand)
Mini marshmallows or white/red fondant (for bobbers)
Edible marker or icing (for signs, optional)

Prepare cupcake batter according to box instructions.
Fill each liner 2/3 full and bake for 18–22 minutes until toothpick comes out clean.
Cool completely on a wire rack before decorating.
Tint buttercream with blue food coloring to create “water.”
Pipe or spread frosting to mimic ripples or waves.
Sprinkle with sugar crystals and crushed graham crackers for shimmer and shoreline.
Insert a halved pretzel stick as the “fishing rod.”
Attach gummy fish to fondant or licorice “line” and connect to rod.
Add mini marshmallow bobbers or fondant signs for extra detail.
Serve immediately or store in a cool place until party time.
Notes
For extra flair, use two shades of blue or clear piping gel for a 3D water effect. Perfect for birthdays, summer picnics, and outdoor celebrations.
